UK Tax Residence Test

Did you have a UK tax resident family member (spouse, civil partner, cohabitee or children below 18 years of age)?

Child is not regarded as a family tie if you spent less than 61 days in the the UK with your child or the child is only UK resident because of the full-time education in the UK and the child spends less than 21 days in the UK outside the study term.

Did you have any accommodation available in the UK for 91 or more consecutive days in the tax year with minimum of one night spent there?

An accomodoation includes a holiday home or even a hotel (long-term booking) and may even include the home of a close relative.
If you had a gap of less than 16 days between periods of availability it will count towards the 91 days continuous period of available accommodation.

Did you work 40 days of the tax year in the UK with a minimum of 3 hours per day?

It can be any 40 days during the tax year (6 April to 5 April) where you worked at least 3 hours per day.
Work can be any paid employment or self-employed work for which you received a payment or incurred costs. Voluntary work does not count.

Have you spent in the UK more than 90 days in any of the previous two tax years before tax year ______________?

You need to count the days in the tax year when you were in the UK at midnight. Days when you were in the UK at midnight in transfer, e.g. changing between the flights, do not count.
